About this song:

I read books. Lots of books.
I escape, sure I do. It’s my safe place.
And Recently I started listening to a podcast featureing fairytales the way they were written, not as they got cleaned up and polished by Disney. And those are disturbing, interesting, fascinating, and like a kick in the ass for creativity.
However, information overload is a thing, even if it’s self-imposed entertainment.
I’m not sure what that dark and absurd stuff does to the mind in the long run. Or if it’s even worth the bother considering.
As far as the name is concerned, I did read Beowulf recently – or an abridged podcast version. and I can’t help sympathize with Grendel. All he wanted was peace and quiet.

Thank you:

Lyrics

Grendel
Lyrics by Jenny K. Brennan

Once upon a time there was a poet. He wrote a story where they all died. And someones mother was insane in the swamp and they came to get her.
And once upon a time there was a princess in a tower and she got knocked up and died when she tried to escape. Got strangled on her hair.
And once upon a time there was a happily ever after.
Can you tie up this story line?
Can you soothe my Grendel?
Oh, I’ve been losing all my heroes cause I’ve been killing them all.
I don’t know what I’m on.
It’s gotta be something strong.
I’m a poet after all.
Oh, I’ve been losing my direction and maybe I’ve gone too far.
It’s all the stories I read.
It’s all the stories I read.
It’s all the stories I read.
I want to believe in fairytales.
Do you believe in happily ever after.
Do you believe love’s like a fairytale.
I wanna believe in happily ever after.
But I do believe that love is a fairytale.
Once upon a time.
Oh, I’ve been losing my perception.
Cause I’ve been turning it down.
I don’t know what I’ve done.
It’s gotta be something dumb.
I’m a poet after all.
Oh, I’ve been burning your instructions and maybe I’ve gone too far.
It’s all the stories I read.
I want to believe the fairytale.
[Solo] Do you believe in happily ever after.
Do you believe love’s like a fairytale.
I wanna believe in happily ever after.
But I do believe that love is a fairytale.
I am nothing if not a believer.
In fairy’s play, the hero’s quest, the maiden’s everlasting innocence.
I am nothing if not a believer.
Once upon a time there was a dragon. He hoarded all the people and all the cats. He traded on the market for something interesting to read.
Once upon a time there was a king who tried to marry his daughter. Because he couldn’t find anyone as perfect as her mother who died.
Once upon a time I believed in love.
Once upon a time.
Do you believe in happily ever after.
Do you believe love’s like a fairytale.
I wanna believe in happily ever after.
But I do believe that love is a fairytale.
Once upon a time.

The first book in the steampunk inspired fiction series of books with the same name has been released simultaneously. Our goal is to continue creating music and tell stories. In This Sundered World there will always be something to tell, whether it is in a fast metal tune about a clockwork guardian with ill intent, a prog-rock dive into insanity or a chapter about Gabriel looking for the end of the world. Lyrics

This death of mine leaves me unsatisfied
But the darkness inside me is moving
and the thing that is me, the thing that was me
You burned my ass but don’t you worry
Don’t you worry
I won’t hurry

You burned my ass but don’t you worry

My body makes no sound down there in the ground
Where you laid me down
But you pray
You pray that I’ll stay
Dead, dead, dead, dead
Don’t you worry, i won’t hurry
I just bide my time
I bide my time
Cause my body makes no sound

This cold cold heart leaves me
Hungering, craving
There comes a day
There comes a day
Your flesh and your blood will satisfy me
This thing that was me
This thing that is me
Dead
You burned my ass
Dead
But don’t you worry, don’t you worry

My body made no sound as you lay me down
Into the ground and now you’re praying
My body made no sound as you lay me down
Into the ground
And now you’re praying I’ll be staying

There was a time
A life I can’t recall
But there must have been
I must have been

Reaching out from a flaming pire
A life tainted by lies
Chastised by fire
Screaming from out of endless punishment
A life broken by faith
Twisted by your beliefs

Then I left that pain
I left that life behind
But I’ll never forget
Dying

Your body makes no sound as I lay you down, Into the ground,
And you’re praying
Your body makes no sound as I lay you down, into the ground
Your body makes no sound as I lay you down, into the ground
There’s no time in hell
Your body makes no sound as I lay you down
I’ll see you around
Into the ground
Your body makes no sound as I lay you down
Hush now
Into the ground
Your body makes no sound as I lay you down
I bide my time
Into the ground
Your body makes no sound

Thanks for listening.

Lyrics

(I really don’t have time for this so, make it short and wake me up when I’m done. Thanks.)

All the time. What happened to all of the time.
All the tomorrows I had lined up in my mind all turning to yesterdays wasted time.

Here we go.

I give you all of my days.
And every night I pay.
And when the morning comes.
Leave me alone.

(There’s nothing wrong with me. Honest.)
(Let’s hear it.)

And all the love,
(Ah yeah, maybe.)
what happened to all the love.
(Yeah, well.)
All of the fantasies hot to the touch in my mind.
(If you don’t ask, I won’t tell.)
All turning to silliness and naked crying.

What do I want?
I’ll tell you what I want.
(Yeah.)
I’ll show you what I need.
And if the morning would come, leave me alone.

(Yeah, that too.)
(For fucks sake.)

Lock up, close your eyes.
(it’s not getting any better.)
Now now, I’ll find my way.
(Seriously.)
Hold on, there’s still some time.
(Are we done yet?)
Wake me up when I’m wasted.

Hold on, I will sleep when I am gone.
Let them gnaw on my old bones.
Wake me up when I’m wasted.
Never mind that.

(Let’s just get wasted.)

I’ll tell you all my fears.
I’ll give you all my tears.
If telling drives me insane, leave me alone.

(Wanna break something break it good and hard. Good job.
Are we done yet?)

Lock up or leave, wake me when I’m done.
Take what you need, wake me when you’re done.
Maybe that’s what I need, wake me when it’s done.

(Are we done? We are done.
Pull that plug will ya? Now get the fuck out of here.)

Lyrics by jennyK

Maybe I’m a star; the crowd calls my name.
But I hear the howl, the call of the wild, maybe I can pay.
Put it on the tab right there.
Where angels fall to cry.
Telling all the people gathered there.
How it is that I was never here.
Telling all the hounddogs by my side.

I wonder how they do it; all I see is shifts in the sky.
And it’s feeling like I’m falling, heading for a hole in the ground.
It’s a fraction of a dime but it’s happening now.
So let the dogs out.

And it’s feeling like I’m falling.
It’s feeling like I’m falling.
At the bottom is the mawling.
It’s a fraction of a dime but that fraction is mine.
* It’s a fraction of a dime in a desperate run-around down-town where everybody goes down
*It’s a fraction of a dime in a runaway merry-go-round and then we all fall down.
*The howl.
*Let the dogs out.

Then I let the dogs out; I’m all, I’m none, I’m terrifyed.
Voices in surround is fine but they’re never quite in time.
A fraction of a dime on a spinning line.
Where dragons hold the snare.
Telling all the children buried here.
How it is that I could never care.

*Let the, the dogs out
*Let the, the dogs out.
*Let the, the dogs out.
*It’s a fraction of a dime and it’s holier than thou.
*Let the, the dogs out.
*If only I had time I’d do it all again.

And they stay.
And they wait.
Lay down to watch you as you sleep.
And they stay.
And they wait.
They lie down to watch as you decay.

*It’s a fraction of a dime but it’s happening now
*Let the dogs out, let the money roll.

Don’t you know I don’t know how to behave.
In this faster lane, and I’m running late.

I wonder how they do it.
All I see is, all I hear is you.
And now I’m falling, and I’m calling.
As I’m going down.
If only I had time I’d do it all again.
And again, and again, and again.
And now I’m falling.
At the bottom is the mawling.
I’d better let the dogs out.
Just for you.

Thanks for listening.
